Cyprus ended net metering on 31 December 2025 and replaced it with a self-consumption framework — built for ordinary rooftop-scale solar, not a small plug-in kit. There is currently no dedicated legal category for small-scale home solar in Cyprus, which is the central fact the rules page below explains. Separately, two home-energy grant schemes are open or opening in 2026: one for solar water heating, and one broader home-upgrade scheme that includes photovoltaics.
